Anderson attends CareerTech

Mike Anderson, Federal Programs Director at Ada Public Schools, is one of 30 school administrators from across Oklahoma participating in this year’s High School Administrators’ Program (HSAP), sponsored by Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.

The program is a series of two-day workshops held at various CareerTech sites across Oklahoma. The final workshop was held at the Lexington Correctional Facility in the CareerTech Skills Center Oct. 21. Lexington is one of 11 CareerTech Skills Centers located in the prison system.

“This program helps administrators better understand the CareerTech system,” said Rick Griffin, regional administrator at the state’s CareerTech agency. “They also learn of the latest information on career options as they relate to CareerTech programs offered both at their schools and at their local technology centers.”

Session topics include career and technology education program content and standards, teacher activities and responsibilities, student organizations, relationships with technology centers, and integrating of academic skills.
