◊ Pontotoc Technology Center announces the test dates for the 2009 August Nursing Program. The Practical Nursing Program test date is from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. For more information or an application phone 580-310-2260 and pick up an application at the front desk or in the nursing office.

◊ Fortnightly Study Club meets today. Phone 332-3485 for times and meeting places.

◊ The local Alcoholics Anonymous group meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Kings Rd. For more information, phone Daniel G. at (580) 332-3503.

◊ Pontotoc County Farm Bureau hosts open house to observe Farm Bureau Week. Cookies and punch will be served and blood pressure checks taken.

◊ Pontotoc County Retired Educators Association meets at 11 a.m. at Ada Elks Lodge for its monthly meeting and noon luncheon. Ruth Ann Taylor and Dorothy Milligan will present a program, “Israel Pilgrimage,” based on Taylor’s traveling experiences in 2008.

◊ Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.



SATURDAY

FEB. 21, 2009

◊ Metal Mayhem will be hosting a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Chickasaw Nation Science and Technology Building, 212 Broadway, Ada. For more information, phone Whitney Mowles at (580) 320-4247.



SUNDAY

FEB. 22, 2009

◊ Al-Anon meets Sundays at 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ at 820 Stadium Drive in Ada.

◊ Tupelo schools will be hosting a fish fry from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tupelo School Cafeteria. Cost for adults (seventh grade and above) is $10, student tickets (first through sixth grade) are $5 and Kindergarten and under are free.
