Coaches’ meetings set for softball

ADA – With spring just around the corner, the Recreation Department is hosting a series of meetings for coaches of youth and adult softball teams that are planning to compete at Matthews Park this year.

Coaches have the opportunity to attend one of three meetings. The meetings have been scheduled for March 12, March 26, and April 2. Each meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Irving Community Center gymnasium, 704 N. Oak Street.

Softball leagues include t-ball; 8-and-under coach pitch; 10-and-under and 12-and-under fast pitch; and men’s, women’s, and co-ed slow pitch.

Fund established for fire victims

ADA — A fund has been established at Citizens Bank to help Troy and Judy Crabtree of Holdenville whose home was destroyed by fire. Donations can be made at the bank or by contacting Debra Bailey at 857-9946.



AHS Class of 1989 plans reunion

Class of 1972 seeks former classmates

ADA — Ada High School graduating class of 1972 will be hosting a reunion in the fall. Members of the class are trying to locate other classmates concerning the reunion. Stonewall 1959 grads host reunion

Stonewall Class of 1959 hosts its 50th reunion at 4 p.m. June 26 in the regents room of old Knight Hall on East Central University campus. The reunion is open to graduates, classmates and teachers. Sigma Tau Gamma looking for alumni

Ada Schools provide free adult education classes

ADA - The Ada Adult Education Learning Center provides free adult education classes to all individuals who meet eligibility requirements. Instruction is based on the learner’s identified instructional needs.

Both day and evening classes are available year round in GED preparation, literacy/basic skills, Family Literacy, English as a Second Language/Citizenship, Work Keys Career Readiness Certificates and workplace education.

Interested individuals may call Sue Terzano at 310-7389 to register for classes or Jane Baltimore at 310-7242 for more information. Enrollment for classes occurs each Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. at the Ada Adult Learning Center classroom, located at the corner of Stockton and 18th Street.
