Music Club to meet
ADA — Wednesday Morning Music Club will meet at the Arts and Heritage Building at 10:30 a.m.
Blood Drive slated
ADA — A blood drive is scheduled at Stonewall High School from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Any donor who gives blood, platelets or plasma April 1 through May 22 can elect to forego the normal t-shirt incentive in favor of having OBI make a contribution to underwrite programs at the Komen Central Oklahoma Affiliate to help fight breast cancer.
Dance set at Irving Community Center
ADA — A dance is held every Wednesday at the Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak from 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.
PTC offers seminar
ADA — Insure Oklahoma O-EPIC/ESI, Employer Sponsored Insurance, is designed to assist small business owners in providing their employees and their employees’ families with health insurance. Pontotoc Technology Center will be offering an informative meeting on Insure Oklahoma/O-EPIC sponsored by the Ada Chamber of Commerce, Pontotoc Technology Center, and York and Associates Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 11:30 – 1:00 at Pontotoc Technology Center in Room 410 B. Lunch will be provided. Reservations must be made by May 12. Seating is limited. Please call Stacey Golightly at 310-2235 to reserve a place.

Meeting to discuss proposed conference center
A community meeting will be held Thursday to discuss a proposed convention and conference center at East Central University. Breastfeeding group to meet
ADA — La Leche League of Ada will be meeting in classroom four of Valley View Regional Hospital at 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. La Leche League is a breastfeeding support group for expecting moms, new moms and not-so-new moms. Nurslings and small children welcome.
AA group to meet at local church
ADA — The local Alcoholics Anonymous group meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. in fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Kings Rd. For more information, phone Daniel G. at (580) 332-3503.
Singers entertain at nursing home
ADA — Gospel and country music singers Thurman Rinehart, Leon Barnett and Gene Williams will entertain residents of Ballard Nursing Home in Ada at 2:30 p.m.
Singing Rineharts will entertain at Allen
ALLEN — Singing Rineharts will entertain residents of Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Allen with gospel and country music at 6:30 p.m.
MS Support Group meets

Hillbillies to host fair
ALLEN — Allen Chamber of Commerce “Hillbillies” are having a Street Fair Friday evening, May 9, on Main Street in Allen from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Members will be selling BBQ sandwiches, funnel cakes, popcorn, bedding plants, glow in the dark necklaces and lots of other items to raise money for Relay for Life. A local band will be at the event to provide entertainment and an inflatable obstacle course will be available for the kids.

ADA — Ada Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary meets at the Citadel, 115 N. Oak. The luncheon begins at noon and donations of $5 are asked to help with cost of the meal. The meeting is open to women interested in the organization. To make reservations, phone 580-332-1377.

Wal-Mart having Poker Run
ADA — Wal-Mart will be having a poker run to benefit Relay for Life. The first bike will be out at 9 a.m. and the last bike out is at 10:30 a.m. The last bike in will be 3 p.m. The cost is $15 per rider and $5 for additional passenger. Poker run to benefit Ada Area Youth Shelter

ADA — American Indian curator and historian Tamara Liegerot Elder will have a book signing at the Ada Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Copies of her book, “Lumhee Holot-tee: The Art and Life of Acee Blue Eagle,” will be available for $22.
