SUNDAY

MAY 10, 2009

• Dance Dynamix presents its 2009 recital “Decades of Dance” at 3 p.m. at Cougar Activity Center. Tickets are available at the door. For more information, phone Stephanie at 580-235-2923.

• Alcoholics Anonymous meets each weekday from noon until 1 p.m. and again from 8-9 p.m. and Weekends from 10-11 a.m. and 8-9 p.m. at 431 S. Mississippi. All meetings are open and anyone who is interested in learning more about the program are invited to attend (between 14th and 15th streets on Mississippi Ave in Ada).

• Al-Anon meets Sundays at 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ at 820 Stadium Drive in Ada.

MAY 11, 2009

• Sasakwa Elementary School conducts early enrollment for 3 year olds through kindergarten.

• Life Line Screening begins at 9 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 308 W. 6th Street, Ada.



TUESDAY

MAY 12, 2009

• Sasakwa Elementary School conducts early enrollment for 3 year olds through kindergarten.

• FCCLA at Byng High School hosts a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Bertha Frank Teague Room.

• Tupelo Public Works Authority will meet in the Tupelo Senior Citizens center.

• Compassionate Friends support group meets at 6:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, 129 W. 14th. Compassionate Friends is an organization offering friendship and understanding to bereaved families following the death of a child. For more information, phone Debbra Martin Smith at 580-399-5565.

• Weight Watchers At Work Program open house meeting takes place at noon in the auditorium of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Building on Beverly Street. This informational meeting is free. For more information, contact Carolyn Romberg at 580-436-7233

• Byrd’s Mill Archeology Society meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Valley View Regional Hospital conference room.

• New group forming to work with all agencies of Law Enforcement and Emergency Services, East Central University, Indian Nations, and other social groups, to facilitate a better life, for seniors and disabled of Southeastern Oklahoma, including Ada, Pontotoc, Durant and Bryan. An organizational meeting takes place from 10 a.m. until noon in the music room upstairs in Ada Public Library. MAY 13, 2009

• Sasakwa Elementary School conducts early enrollment for 3 year olds through kindergarten.

• A dance is held every Wednesday at the Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.



THURSDAY

MAY 14, 2009

• Sasakwa Elementary School conducts early enrollment for 3 year olds through kindergarten.

• Vision Bank hosts a blood drive from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the bank board room.

Ada Chickasaw Senior Citizens will host an Indian taco sale from 4-7 p.m. at the senior site, 1005 Chamber Loop. A pie and cake auction takes place at 5:30 p.m. Cost of the taco, dessert and drink is $6. For delivery of two or more in the city limits, phone 580-436-1007.

• Gospel and country music singers Thurman Rinehart, Leon Barnett and Gene Williams will perform for residents of Ballard Nursing Home in Ada at 2:30 p.m.

• Singing Rineharts will entertain residents at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Allen with gospel and country music at 6:30 p.m.

• Divorce/Bereavement Support Group meets a 7 p.m. at Compassion Outreach Center, 1124 Cradduck Road, Ada. The group offers support for those who have lost a loved one through divorce or death. For more information, phone Tom at 332-6506.

• The local Alcoholics Anonymous group meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Kings Rd. For more information, phone Daniel G. at (580) 332-3503.



FRIDAY

MAY 15, 2009

• Sasakwa Elementary School conducts early enrollment for 3 year olds through kindergarten.

• A Benefit concert and truck giveaway takes place at 6:30 p.m. at Vanoss High school Gymnasium. Proceeds go to the Harrell Pennington and Lloyd Burk Family Medical Fund. Featured singer is Clancy Davis. Admission is $5 at the door. Tickets for a chance to win a 2008 Chevy Colorado are $100 and must be purchased in advance. • Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.
