Vanoss Alumni Association to meet

VANOSS — The Vanoss Alumni Association will meet at 7 p.m. to plan for the 2008 Vanoss Alumni Banquet. The meeting will be held in the Vanoss School Library. Reception honors Lee Miller

ADA — A retirement reception honoring Lee Miller’s 29 years of service to Ada City Schools will be 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at the Southwest Church of Christ Fellowship Building, 18th and Johnston.



Caregiver Support Group to meet

Firing range open at MSC

Murray State College Firing Range is open to the public. Hours of operation are scheduled for May 12 and 17. For more information, phone Gun Range supervisor Roger Lee at (580) 221-1635.



PTC offers seminar

ADA — Insure Oklahoma O-EPIC/ESI, Employer Sponsored Insurance, is designed to assist small business owners in providing their employees and their employees’ families with health insurance. Pontotoc Technology Center will be offering an informative meeting on Insure Oklahoma/O-EPIC sponsored by the Ada Chamber of Commerce, Pontotoc Technology Center, and York and Associates Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 11:30 – 1:00 at Pontotoc Technology Center in Room 410 B. Lunch will be provided. Reservations must be made by May 12. Seating is limited. Please call Stacey Golightly at 310-2235 to reserve a place.



Registration for hip-hop due

ADA — Registration is due May 16 to participate in a Hip-Hop workshop by Julie Weems tol be held May 24. Participants will perform at the May 30 Relay for Life event. Funds are to benefit Relay for Life and American Cancer Society. The cost is $15 per person. Beginners will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with an 8:45 check-in. Advanced will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a 10:15 check-in. Phone Julie Weems at 436-8326 for more information.

Ada Gardeners to meet

ADA — The Ada Master Gardeners are looking for more members. They will be holding their monthly meeting May 13 at noon in the OSU Extension Center inside the Agri-plex. All area gardeners are welcome.



Blood Drive slated

ADA — A blood drive is scheduled at Chickasaw Nation IT Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Any donor who gives blood, platelets or plasma April 1 through May 22 can elect to forgo the normal t-shirt incentive in favor of having OBI make a contribution to underwrite programs at the Komen Central Oklahoma Affiliate to help fight breast cancer.



Local archeology group meets

ADA — Byrds Mill chapter of Oklahoma Archeology Society meets at 7 p.m. in Valley View Regional Conference room. The speaker is Dr. Don Ycoff, director of antiquities of the Oklahoma Natural History Museum in Norman. The event is open to the public. For more information, phone 580-332-3812.

Dance set at Irving Community Center

ADA — A dance is held every Wednesday at the Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.
