• Howard V. Blair will be at the Ada Public Library from 4 p.m. for a presentation and book signing. His book, “Class: Thoughts of an Ordinary Man,” will be available for $20.

• The local Alcoholics Anonymous group meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Kings Rd. For more information, phone Daniel G. at (580) 332-3503.



FRIDAY

MAY 29, 2009

• Howard V. Blair will be at Tin Can Cafe in Connerville from 6-8 p.m. for a book signing. His book, “Class: Thoughts of an Ordinary Man,” will be available for $20.

• Alcoholics Anonymous meets each weekday from noon until 1 p.m. and again from 8-9 p.m. and weekends from 10-11 a.m. and 8-9 p.m. at 431 S. Mississippi (between 14th and 15th streets on Mississippi Ave in Ada). All meetings are open and anyone who is interested in learning more about the program is invited to attend.

• Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.



SATURDAY

MAY 30, 2009

• Alcoholics Anonymous Men’s Only Discussion Group meets at 8 a.m. at Central Church of Christ. Closed meeting. For more information, phone Craig R. at 580-399-8838.

• Stratford Fire Department and Masonic Lodge host the seventh annual two-man bass fishing tournament and fish fry. Tickets for the fish fry are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Contact Jason Fulks at 310-2510, Brandon Chandler at 742-5112 or Jason Korzan at 421-6818 for more information.

MAY 31, 2009

• Babysitters College class will be June 11-12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Carl Albert Indian Health Facility main conference room. Deadline for enrollment is June 9 and applications may be downloaded at www.chickasaw.net. Only 25 applicants will be accepted due to limited space. • Al-Anon meets Sundays at 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ at 820 Stadium Drive in Ada.



MONDAY

JUNE 1, 2009

• Ada City Council meets the first and third Monday each month at 5:45 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall unless the day falls on a holiday. Meetings are also televised live on cable channel 11.

• Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1194 meets at 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month in the upstairs music room of Ada Public Library.
