• Babysitters College class will be June 11-12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Carl Albert Indian Health Facility main conference room. Deadline for enrollment was June 9. For more information, phone Deanna Carpitche at 580-421-4591.

• Ada Multiple Sclerosis Support Group meets at 6 p.m. at Marie Bailey Building, 1200 Jack John Circle in Ada. The building is handicap accessible. The meeting includes information, food and fun for people living with MS, their care-givers, families and friends. For more information, contact 580-436-7981 or 580-436-4629.

• The local Alcoholics Anonymous group meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Kings Rd. For more information, phone Daniel G. at (580) 332-3503.

• Ada Order of the Eastern Star is hosting a garage sale to benefit CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate program.) The sale will take place at Ada Masonic Lodge, 730 Crestview. Anyone interested in donating items may contact Vinita at 272-0003 or Geri at 421-9625. Money will be used to help create special age-appropriate activity bags for CASA volunteers to use as interactive resources when they spend time with their CASA child or teen.

• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) parent training session will be 5-9 p.m. at Cougar Activity Center, 1400 Stadium Drive. The training will be offered to all parents residing in Pontotoc County and will provide guidance in directing children with challenging behaviors.

• McLish Alumni Weekend is coming up. On Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m. in the McLish Gym there will be women’s basketball followed by the men’s game. On Saturday, June 13 from 2-4 p.m. McLish School will be open for visitation. Saturday evening at 5 begins visitation at the Elks’ Lodge in Ada. Festivities and dinner follow. • Fitzhugh Alumni Association hosts a fish fry and visitation at 7 p.m. at Roff Senior Citizen’s building.

• National Wrestling Alliance Oklahoma presents live pro wrestling at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 12 at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center (old gym) in Ada. Tickets are available at The Runner, 100 S. Mississippi. Proceeds go to benefit the third All Nations Annual Pow Wow of Ada.

• Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.

JUNE 13, 2009

• Ada Elks Lodge hosts a benefit to help Presley Painter’s family fund an operation for the child. The event begins at 5 p.m. at the hamburger hut at Ada Elks Lodge lake. Music will be provided by Ray Marshall. There will be a minimum donation of $10 per person, which not apply to children.

• Fitzhugh Alumni Association will host its annual banquet in fellowship hall of Fizhugh Baptist Church. Catered dinner will be served at 5 p.m. at $10 a person. SUNDAY

JUNE 14, 2009

• Alcoholics Anonymous meets each weekday from noon until 1 p.m. and again from 8-9 p.m. and Weekends from 10-11 a.m. and 8-9 p.m. at 431 S. Mississippi. All meetings are open and anyone who is interested in learning more about the program are invited to attend (between 14th and 15th streets on Mississippi Ave in Ada).

• Ada Elks Lodge celebrates Flag Day with a special flag presentation ceremony at 1 p.m. at the Elks Lodge. The event is open to the public.

• Al-Anon meets Sundays at 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ at 820 Stadium Drive in Ada.
