JULY 26, 2009

• The Choctaw-Chickasaw Singing Convention will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Chicksaw Nation Gym at Fourth and Mississippi behind Chickasaw Nation headquarters. Dinner will be served at noon. Bring lawn chairs. For more information, phone William Gaines, 436-1294 or Joe Wallace at 272-0219.

• Alcoholics Anonymous meets each weekday from noon until 1 p.m. and again from 8-9 p.m. and weekends from 10-11 a.m. and 8-9 p.m. at 431 S. Mississippi (between 14th and 15th streets on Mississippi Ave. in Ada). All meetings are open and anyone who is interested in learning more about the program is invited to attend.

TUESDAY

JULY 28, 2009

• The Combat Infantrymen’s Association (CIA) is now recruiting for new members. Membership into this elite group of men is open to Army infantry veterans who have served in a foreign war and earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. • The public is invited to meet Ada's Baptist Village new campus director, Tracy Scheer and his wife Carolyn, from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. at Baptist Village of Ada, 3501 Oakridge Blvd. (across from Kerr Water Research Lab). Refreshments will be served.

• A dance is held every Wednesday at the Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.
