• Byng Elementary School hosts its annual fall festival from 6-8 p.m. at the school. Food will be offered for sale begining at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. For more information, phone the school at 310-6723.
• Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.

• Alcoholics Anonymous Men’s Only Discussion Group meets at 8 a.m. at Central Church of Christ. Closed meeting. For more information, phone Craig R. at 580-399-8838.
• The Second Annual Ada Open Chess Tournament will be at First Presbyterian Church in Westminster Fellowship Center, 301 E. Kings Road. There will be four rounds. Time controls are Game in 60 + 15 second delay. For more information, phone 580-332-3073. Entry fee is $20. Memberships in Oklahoma Chess Foundation and USCF are required. Fees for those memberships vary. Registration is 9- 9:45 am. Participants are to take their own chess set, board, and chess clock.
• Allen Masonic Lodge hosts a fund-raising dinner from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. A menu of chili and stew, served with corn bread and dessert, is planned. Donations from the meal will be used to assist Allen American Legion with its reorganization and building repairs.
• The 16th annual Dizzy Dean Day at Spaulding begins with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7-11 a.m. Cost is $5 per person. Other activities include tractor demonstrations, a parade at noon and music. Thurman Rinehart is master of ceremonies. Rinehart and Friends with Fiddlin’ Jake is 10 a.m., Jeff Sibble and Friends at 11 a.m, Mary McDonald, Larry Darnell and Co at 1 p.m., The Johnsons (James and Inez) at 2 p.m., Tator Hillbillys (L.D. Cross and friends) at 3 p.m. and Friends at 4 p.m. A tractor drawing is at 4:30 p.m., Spaulding alumni meet at 5 p.m.. A dance from 8-10 p.m. takes place at Spaulding Community Center. • City of Ada will sponsor its 10th Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of East Central University’s Norris Field. For more information, phone Trudy Nevland at 580-436-8100.
• Ada High Cheerleaders will sponsor a clinic for children in grades Pre-K through sixth grade Saturday, from 9 a.m. until noon at Ada High School. Cost of the clinic is $25 which includes a free T-shirt. Parents with two or more children attending the cost is $20 per child. • Kim’s Tanning will host a blood drive in the Oklahoma Blood Institute’s bloodmobile from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Kim’s Tanning parking lot at 1500 Hoppe Blvd, Suite 1. Donors will receive their choice of a free University of Oklahoma or Oklahoma State University blood donor T-shirt.
• Ada American Legion Post 72 sponsors Bingo Saturday nights at 6 and 7:30 p.m. The Post hall is located at 3529 N. Broadway, Ada. Proceeds finance veterans and their families, scholarships and Boys and Girls State.
• The fourth annual Vanoss Alumni Basketball game takes place at the Kenneth D. Smith Memorial Field House in Vanoss. The girl’s game begins at 6:30 p.m. and the boy’s game immediately follows.
