• Divorce/Bereavement Support Group meets at 7 p.m. at The Compassion Outreach Center, 1124 Craddock Road. The group offers support for those who have lost a loved one through divorce or death. For more information, phone Tom at 332-6506.
• A dance is held every Wednesday at the Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.

• Ada Chickasaw Senior Citizens hosts an Indian taco sale from 4-7 p.m. at the senior center, 1005 Chamber Looper. Dr. John Garber will auction pies and cakes at 5:30 p.m. The Red Barn Band will entertain. Cost for taco, dessert and drink is $6. For delivery of two or more orders, phone 436-1007.

• Pontotoc National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) meets at 7 p.m. in Valley View Regional Hospital conference room next to the cafeteria. The agenda includes preparations for Christmas and a discussion of NAMI Walk 2010. Ponotoc NAMI is a support group, and open to anyone with an interest in mental health issues. • Salvation Army Christmas applications and coat distribution will be at the Salvation Army, 115 N. Oak St. in Ada through Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon. Families are asked to bring photo identification, proof of income and expenses, social security cards for everyone in the household, and clothing sizes for children ages 0-12 years.
• Ada Arts and Heritage Center, 400 S. Rennie, hosts its regular First Friday event. A light lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. and entertainment continues until 1 p.m.
• Dr. John R. Hibbing will deliver the Lou Watkins Endowed Lecture at 12:30 p.m. in the Oklahoma Room in East Central University’s Memorial Student Union. The title of his talk is “Biology, Political Orientations and Citizenship.” The lecture is free and open to the public.
• Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.

• Alcoholics Anonymous Men’s Only Discussion Group meets at 8 a.m. at Central Church of Christ. Closed meeting. For more information, phone Craig R. at 580-399-8838.
• Lula Volunteer Fire Department hosts its annual barbecue fundraiser with live music from Jerry Duncan and Friends. Serving starts at 5 p.m. All donations will benefit Lula Fire Department located on State Highway 48 in Lula. For more information, phone Fire Chief Kim Johnson at 580-320-6489.
• Fitzhugh Fire Department all-you-can-eat fish fry is 5-8 p.m. Pie auction is every 30 minutes. Donations accepted.
• Non Community annual pie auction is 6 p.m. at the Non Community Building. Auctioneer is Dale Turner. There will be no charge for the dinner of chili, beans, corn bread and tea or coffee. Proceeds from the auction go for Christmas gifts for children, Christmas sacks that are given to everyone attending the event and purchasing meat for hte Christmas dinner that will be held Dec. 5. Any remaining money will go intothe general community fund.
• Ada American Legion Post 72 sponsors Bingo Saturday nights at 6 and 7:30 p.m. The Post hall is located at 3529 N. Broadway, Ada. Refreshments are available. Proceeds finance veterans and their families, scholarships and Boys and Girls State.
• Celebrate Recovery meets each Friday at Grace Community Church in Konawa on SH 99. The program is for anyone with hurts, habits or hangups. From 6-7 p.m., a meal is served for $3; group from 7 to 9 p.m. is free. For more information, phone 580-272-3320 or 925-3545.
