• Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.

• Celebrate Recovery meets each Friday at Grace Community Church in Konawa on SH 99. The program is for anyone with hurts, habits or hangups. From 6-7 p.m., a meal is served for $3; group from 7 to 9 p.m. is free. For more information, phone 580-272-3320 or 925-3545.

• Alcoholics Anonymous Men’s Only Discussion Group meets at 8 a.m. at Central Church of Christ. Closed meeting. For more information, phone Craig R. at 580-399-8838.

• Tupelo School alumni reunion is noon at Tupelo School cafeteria. The event is pot luck. Phone 580-272-8287 for more information.

• Ada American Legion Post 72 sponsors Bingo Saturday nights at 6 and 7:30 p.m. The Post hall is located at 3529 N. Broadway, Ada. Refreshments are available. Proceeds finance veterans and their families, scholarships and Boys and Girls State.

• Pontotoc County Alcoholics Anonymous group meets at 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ, 820 Stadium Drive, Ada. Open meeting.

• Ada Senior Care Center, a non-profit community service agency to help prevent or delay nursing home placement, is open weekdays at the back of First Presbyterian Church on Kings Road. The center is now accepting clients. For more information, hone Donna at 332-2855.

• A Christmas Tour of Homes is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 7, from 5-8 p.m.  Tickets are on sale at Ada Area Chamber of Commerce or by calling East Central University at 559-5873. Tour ticket prices are $10 for the tour only, and $15 for the tour with transportation provided. Refreshments will be served at Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center throughout the evening. Proceeds benefit the children of Ada through Project Invest — a program of ECU’s Child Care Resource & Referral Agency and Smart Start South Central.

• Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma Journey stories reading and discussion series , takes place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Ada Public Library, 124 S. Rennie Street.

TUESDAY

DEC. 1, 2009

• TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets at 8:15 a.m. each Tuesday on the second floor of Irving Center, located at the corner of Fourth and Oak Streets in Ada. TOPS is a weight support group.

• Ada Shrine Club meets at J.D.’s Cafe in Ada. Election of officers will be held. Members are asked to wear their fez. Meal wil be served at 6 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7 p.m.

• Ardmore’s annual Downtown Parade of Lights is 6:30 p.m. following the Ardmore Christmas Tree Lighting in Central Park. Those wanting to enter a float in the parade may contact Ardmore Main Street Authority at 580-226-6246, or Stephanie Baker at 580-226-2630.

DEC. 2, 2009

• Divorce/Bereavement Support Group meets at 7 p.m. at The Compassion Outreach Center, 1124 Cradduck Road. The group offers support for those who have lost a loved one through divorce or death. For more information, phone Tom at 332-6506.

• A dance is held every Wednesday at the Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.

DEC. 3, 2009

• Homer Elementary School fundraiser delivery will be at Homer Blue Gym from 12-5:30 p.m. For more information, phone 580-559-0200.

• Latta School’s Indian Education Parent Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. in Room 111 in the Latta Junior High School. Business meetings will be conducted for JOM and Title VII programs. Impact Aid program will be reviewed. The meeting is open to parents of JOM and Title VII students.

• Pat Taylor Memorial Parade of Lights takes place at 7 p.m. on Ada’s Main Street.
