Bobby and Gayle Johns celebrate 50th anniversary

ADA — Bobby and Gayle Johns, Ada, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary April 4, 2008. The couple will be honored at a reception given by their children and grandchildren Sunday, April 6 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Southwest Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, Ada. Community friends are invited.

The couple met while both were students at East Central University. They were married April 6, 1958. Mr. and Mrs. Johns served the majority of their professional lives as educators at Byng Public Schools. Mrs. Johns taught fifth grade while Mr. Johns taught history, coached women’s basketball, coached men’s baseball and served as an administrator and athletic director. Mr. and Mrs. Johns are long time members of Southwest Church of Christ.

Mr. and Mrs. Johns have three children and six grandchildren: Randy Johns and wife Loree of Edmond and their sons, Luke and Taylor; Ronny Johns and wife Renee of Ada and their children, Ali, Quaid and Jacy; and Risa Forrester and husband Tim of Edmond, and their son, Cal.

The children and grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Johns invited their friends and family to the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary reception Sunday, April 6, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Southwest Church of Christ Fellowship Hall. The family asks that no gifts be presented.
