ADA — An Allen man arrested during a routine traffic stop now faces more serious charges after allegedly trying to sneak marijuana into Ada City Jail by placing the drugs between his buttocks.
According to a report provided by Ada Police Department, Cody Boyles, 27, Allen and Jennifer Walker, 27, Ada, were stopped at approximately 2 a.m. Tuesday morning for an expired tag and heavy exhaust fumes coming from the muffler of their vehicle.
While Boyles searched for his driver’s license and insurance verification, the officer spotted a bag he believed containing a crystal white substance on Boyles’ lap.
At that time, the officer reached into the vehicle and grabbed the bag, placing it on top of the car.
The officer reportedly asked Boyles to step out of the vehicle and turn around, and as he did he allegedly grabbed the bag and began throwing its contents on the roadway.
Some of the substance reportedly got in the eyes and mouth of another officer who had arrived to assist.
Police said Boyles smelled strongly of marijuana and officers searched his vehicle, finding brass knuckles, a used syringe and a Roman candle firecracker.
After he was taken into custody, officers allegedly found a package of rolling papers in Boyles’ left shoe.
Boyles was then allowed to change into an orange jumpsuit for his stay in the jail.
After that, officers reported he was holding the back of the jumpsuit and “walking funny.”
Boyles reportedly denied any problem, but officers then strip-searched him and allegedly found a “large” bag of what they believed to be marijuana stuck between his buttocks.
Boyles was charged with suspicion of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with an intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, assault and battery, attempt to bring contraband in jail, destroying evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, and other charges.
