Area Sports Briefs for September 21, 2008

Lakewood sets aside Tuesdays for the ladies

ADA — The Lakewood Golf Course has set aside Tuesdays for Ladies Day at the course.

Female golfers will tee off every Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m.

Lakewood is also hosting its weekly Thursday night two-man scrambles.

Participants must be registered by 5 p.m. so the scramble can begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. Entry fee is $20 per person.

Booster club to host

weekly football luncheons

ADA — The Ada Football Booster Club will once again host a weekly luncheon Friday at Polo's Mexican Restaurant.

All fans are encouraged to attend.

Each week new head coach Matt Weber will be on hand to talk about the previous week's contest and give fans a preview of Ada's next game. Other Cougar coaches and players will also be in attendance throughout the season.

There will be no luncheon held during Fall Break week when the Cougars play at Stillwell Thursday, Oct. 16.
