Schmidtberger earns national certification
ADA — Brian Schmidtberger, Senior Vice President, First United Bank, was recently awarded the Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB), a nonprofit organization sponsored by the American Bankers Association, in Washington DC.
Schmidtberger has more than 20 years of financial services experience and has been with First United since 2004. His experience includes trust operations, administration, investments and business development. He specializes in portfolio management, trust and estate planning, retirement planning, asset management, real estate management and IRA rollovers. Schmidtberger holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Emporia State University.
The CTFA designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of wealth management and trust. To qualify for the CTFA certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the trust profession, pass an exam, and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CTFA exam covers many areas including fiduciary and trust activities, personal financial planning, tax law, investment management and ethics.
“Brian is the only ICB Certified Trust and Financial Advisor in Southeastern Oklahoma,” said Greg Massey, First United CEO. “With his knowledge, experience and high standards, I am not surprised to see him receive this designation,” Massey added.
In addition to his responsibilities at First United, Schmidtberger is involved in numerous community organizations including Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, United Way and Durant Youth Football Association.
