  • Caught up in the cyclone number
    I tend to get easily caught up in things. The political primaries, new video games, comic book Wednesdays, that kind of thing.
    I can often be found in my own little world, oblivious to pressing concerns in the outside world.
  • Setting posts and stretching fence
    As a United Methodist, I believe God changes us through his grace and this grace, with the help of the Holy Spirit, can be received through works.
    As a part of my own personal theology of trying to get to heaven through yard work, I spent the morning pouring concrete around some fence posts I was setting in my back yard in order to repair my chain link fence.

    I hear it often, “Cystic fibrosis, what’s that”? One needs to know since all newborn babies in Oklahoma are tested for it at birth. I’m not a doctor, but I am knowledgeable about cystic fibrosis.

    With the almost unprecedented summer rainfall that this area enjoyed in 2007, it is easy to forget 2006 and the other end of the spectrum. However, all we need to do is look east of us and west of us to remember that drought and water problems can be back here at any time in the future if we are not prepared.
