Hutchins/Authier Wedding





Miss Helen Katherine Hutchins and Mr. Matthew Gerard Authier were united in marriage on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 6:30 in the evening in the sanctuary of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Corsicana.The Rev. Darla Blatnik of Westminster Presbyterian and the Rev. Bruce Carpenter of St. Luke United Methodist Church officiated for the candlelight double-ring ceremony. Music was provided by Sandra Huffman on the organ. Christine Johnson of Emhouse read the New Testament scripture reading from the Book of Philippians.

On the eve of the wedding, the couple shared with the wedding party a dinner at LaPradera restaurant hosted by the groom’s parents. On her wedding day, Kate and the female members of the wedding party feasted at Blackjack McCandless Steakhouse in downtown Corsicana. Kate is the daughter of Ms. Priscilla Clore of Corsicana and the late Monte J. Hutchins. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Anderson and the late Myrtle Sikes and Glynn Hutchins.

Matt is the son of Ms. Lisa Authier and Mr. Kenneth Authier of Corsicana. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Eastman of Cleburne and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Authier of Georgetown. Given in marriage by her mother and escorted by her brother Bryan Hutchins, the bride selected a Jasmine Couture strapless gown in ivory couture satin with a flare style skirt embellished with Swarovski crystal detail and a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses tied with ivory ribbon.

Serving as maid of honor was Kate’s sister, Karen Lea Crawford of Corsicana. Matron of honor was Catherine Lowman of Sachse. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Brown of Houston and Brittany Stark and Ashlie Tobeck of College Station. The attendants were dressed in black strapless tea-length dresses and carried yellow calla lilies tied with black ribbon. Brooklyn Robinson of Corsicana served as flower girl, all in white.

Matt’s brother, Ryan Authier of Austin was best man. Groomsmen included Alan Lowman of Sachse and Chase Smith of Burleson, Josh Motycka, Wes McElroy, Hudson Marx, Andrew Seely and Landon Cook, all of Corsicana. Chase Hutchins, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer. Candle lighters were Connor Hutchins and Austin Gregory, also nephews of the bride. A buffet reception at the Halbert House followed the ceremony. Kate and Matt arrived in a horse-drawn carriage, and danced their first dance on the lovely front porch to their special song since high school, Kenny Chesney’s “Me and You.”

Kate is a graduate of Corsicana High School, and a 2008 graduate of Texas A&M University. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing, and is currently employed with Grand Prairie Independent School District as a fifth grade teacher.

Matt also graduated from Corsicana High School, and is a 2008 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Administration degree in accounting and a Master of Science in finance. Shortly after graduation, Matt completed his CPA and is presently an associate with Deloitte and Touche, LLP in Dallas.

Following their honeymoon to the island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean, Kate and Matt are at home in Dallas.
