East Central University men’s head basketball coach Terry Shannon has announced the signing of yet two more student-athletes for the 2008-09 season.
Desmond Clark, a 5-10 senior guard out of Tulsa Washington High School, and Geo Brewer, from Lawton MacArthur, have inked with the Tigers to up the count to eight on this year’s signing class.
Clark averaged 12 points and five assists for the Hornets, who reached the Class 5A state finals this past season. He was an honorable mention all-state award winner and honorable mention all-metro honoree.
Clark was also invited to play in Jim Thorpe’s all-star game and academically made the National Society of High School Scholars.
Brewer averaged 21 points and five assists while leading Class 5A in scoring. He had five games in which he scored 35 points or more and was the fourth player to score 1,000 points in MacArthur’s school history.
Brewer also achieved Class 5A all-state honors and was nominated for McDonald’s All-American.
Clark and Brewer join a class which features junior college transfer and 6-6 junior Wes Badley, out of Ponca City, along with five other freshmen in 6-7 post Cory Nicholson, of Harrah; 6-6 forward Wes May of Seminole; 6-2 guard Tedrick Urune, of Wylie, Texas; 6-3 guard Nate Bateman, out of Lake Forest Academy in Chicago; and 6-0 guard Kris Dao from Cypress Falls High School in Houston.
