Kudos May 9, 2008

Thank you to all those who gathered to observe National Day of Prayer. Showing concern for the nation's well-being is never something to be taken lightly.

Kudos to those participating in the Nikki Stonecipher Memorial Scholarship Fund Golf Scramble. The event, held Monday, was to remember and celebrate the precious lives lost in the plane crash only a few years ago.

A congratulations goes to East Central University on becoming the new home for Oklahoma Politics, which is a publication that publishes political science articles that have a significant Oklahoma component, as well as reviews, notes and data on subjects.

A similar congratulations goes to the Chickasaw Nation in the groundbreaking for two new buildings. The Chickasaw Nation Legislative building and Judicial building will be built. The Chickasaw Nation continues to grow and better the comunitity as a whole.

Kudos to the East Central University graduates. The long list of the candidates for degrees will walk Saturday at commencement ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., depending on what degree is earned. Good luck in all of your endeavors.

The same wishes are also extended to Pontotoc Technology Center graduates who participated in commencement ceremonies Tuesday night. Kudos to the students of the year as well.

Congratulations goes to newly sworn-in Mayor Barbara Young and Councilmember Charlie Vest.

With the many, many area residents receiving awards through schools and competitions, congratulations and kudos to you.

For all of the sports teams working hard throughout the spring season, as there are far too many to list here, great job on your hard work, dedication and team efforts.
