EDMOND Meeting to help attendees decode their DNA

The Edmond Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Edmond Historical Museum, 431 S. Boulevard.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Brandt Cassidy, director of laboratory operations for DNA Solutions.

Cassidy has over 20 years of laboratory experience in DNA analysis and is recognized around the world as an expert in DNA research and analysis.

The meeting will help attendees learn how DNA relates to relationships and uncover applications in the genealogy industry using DNA identification.

The meeting is free and open to the public.



Health Care Reform Town Hall Tour stops in OKC

Oklahoma City and Edmond residents will have the opportunity to share their health care experiences and concerns next week at the Oklahomans for Health Care Reform’s ongoing town hall meetings throughout the state.

Oklahomans for Health Care Reform kicked off the successful series with meetings in Noble, Lawton, Muskogee, Stillwater and Tulsa. Thursday’s event will be from 6-8 p.m. at the Metro Tech, Spring Lake Campus, 36th street and MLK Boulevard in Oklahoma City.

The format in Oklahoma City will be open, with audience members sharing their stories and suggesting solutions to make Oklahomans healthier and provide better access to care.
