Music of Iraq will be presented by Rahim AlHaj and Souhail Kaspar from 1-2 p.m. at the Edmond Library, 10 S. Boulevard. AlHaj is a virtuoso oud musician and composer. Kaspar is a Grammy-nominated master percussionist known for his rhythmic patterns of Arabic music.



12 THURSDAY

Wine Through Time, an elegant fundraising event for the Edmond Historical Society & Museum, will feature wines by Premium Brands Wine & Spirits and food from participating area restaurants. Stephanie Jackson, classical guitarist, will provide live entertainment. Live and silent auctions items will be available for bidding. The event will be from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Edmond Historical Society & Museum. The cost is $50 per person. Corporate tables are available. Fall Craft Show, a fundraising event sponsored by the Edmond North High School Band Boosters, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school’s Freshman Academy on the north side of the main bulding at 215 W. Danforth Rd. Get an early start on holiday gift shopping with a large selection of homemade craft items, jewelry, candles, holiday decor, home-based business items and much more. Lunch and refreshments will be available for purchase at the band's “Husky Cafe.” Admission is free.

“She Loves Me” will be performed at 8 p.m. through Sunday at the Hardeman Auditorium on the Oklahoma Christian University campus. In this romance set in the 1930s, two feuding clerks in a European parfumerie secretly find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals, little knowing their respective correspondents are none other than each other. The same story was made into the popular movie, “You've Got Mail.” The play is suitable for all ages. Tickets cost $10, or $9 for seniors. Kaleidoscope Dance Company, of the University of Central Oklahoma, will debut an array of dances, including ballet, tap, hip-hop and African pieces, during a fall dance concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Mitchell Hall Theater on the UCO campus. Guests artists r.a.c.e. (radical application of creative energy), the first professional jazz dance company in Oklahoma, and local professional ballroom dancers Shelby and Dadbeh Jarafi also will perform. Duo Fisher will perform at 7:30 at the UCO Jazz Lab, 100 E. Fifth St. Dueling pianists Greg and Miho Fisher combine classically trained artistry with audience favorites. Selections from “365 Days-365 Plays” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in the University of Central Oklahoma Communications Building, room 120. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan Lori Parks undertakes the challenge of writing a play a day for an entire year. The results are a provocative collection of very short “playlets.” Each has, at is heart, a surprisingly rich disclosure of human behavior. The unique theater experience is free. Nov. 17

Oklahoma Community Orchestra will present a concert with the theme “A Musical Sea Voyage” at 7:30 p.m. at the Hardeman Auditorium on the Oklahoma Christian University campus, 2501 E. Memorial Rd. Kyle Dillingham and Callen Clarke are launching a new symphonic work, “The Mary Rose,” premiering with John Fletcher conducting the orchestra. The Mary Rose, legendary Renaissance warship, sank tragically in 1545 during the Battle of the Solent and was raised in 1982 by the Alexander McKee and the Mary Rose Trust. The music will feature themes and instruments from the era to vividly evoke the beautiful and violent world of Renaissance England. Single concert tickets may be purchased at the door the night of the performance or online at www.okcorchestra.org. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors age 62 and older.

Nash3, a gospel group from Houston, will give a free concert, “One Nation Under God,” at 7 p.m. at Crossroads Church, S.W. 89th and Shields. The evening will begin with a concert by Jaia and includes special speaker Steve Russell, a retired lieutenant colonel who founded Vets for Victory. Nash3’s latest hit is "In God We Still Trust,” No. 1 independent record for Nash3 that was also recorded by Diamond Rio. A free-will offering will be taken with all proceeds to benefit the Christmas Connection, the Oklahoma Brain Tumor Foundation, and the National Exchange Club.

Billy Joel & Elton John Face 2 Face tour comes to the Ford Center. 40th International Finals Rodeo tickets are available now for the three-day event at State Fair Arena. Born in Oklahoma, the IFR determines the World Champions of the Internatioinal Professional Rodeo Association. The IFR offers $350,000 in prize money and awards, making it Oklahoma’s largest professional rodeo. Other activities associated with the IFR include the IFR Bucking Horse Sale, Miss Rodeo USA Pageant, Old Timers Reunion, the IPRA Convention and a western expo and trade show. On Sunday, all children receive a free cowboy hat compliments of OG&E. Beginning one hour prior to the Sunday performance, children are invited to go onto the arena floor to experience special activities. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
