Edmond Public Schools: what’s on the bond issue

EDMOND Proposition No. 1

1. Technology: Provide for improvements to the Edmond School District to include, but not limited to, purchasing and installing equipment and cabling designed to increase elementary bandwidth, purchasing and installing computers, computer software, technology related equipment, phone systems and technology related support services. $2.65 million

2. Roofing: Provide for improvements to the Edmond School District, to include the continuation of repairing/replacing of certain roofing at the following sites: Orvis Risner Elementary, Edmond Public Schools Administrative Center, North High School and Memorial High School. $900,000

3. School Security: Provide for improvements to the Edmond School District, to include, but not be limited to the replacement and expansion of security cameras and security door upgrades at the following school sites: Angie Debo Elementary at 16060 N. May, Chisholm Elementary at 2300 S.E. 33rd St. Charles Haskell Elementary at 1701 N.W. 150th St., John Ross Elementary at 1901 N. Thomas, Northern Hills Elementary at 901 E. Wayne and Washington Irving Elementary at 18101 N. Western. $200,000

4. School Equipment: Provide for improvements to the Edmond School District, to include but not limited to, the purchasing of athletic equipment, the purchasing of fine arts equipment, as needed at District high schools and middle schools, the purchasing of band uniforms for Santa Fe High School and the purchase of library/media center books, instructional equipment, instructional materials and textbooks as needed and as funds will allow at all school sites. $1.4 million

5. HVAC Equipment: Provide for improvements to Washington Irving Elementary located at 18101 N. Western and Cross Timbers Elementary at 4800 N. Kelly, to include but not limited to, the purchase and installation of HVAC equipment. $400,000

6. West Field Elementary: Improve West Field Elementary at 17601 N. Pennsylvania, to include but not be limited to, the construction and equipping of a 12-classroom addition. $5 million

7. Centennial Elementary: Improve Centennial Elementary at 4400 N. Coltrane to include but not be limited to, construction and equipping of a 6-classroom addition. $2.5 million

8. Clegern Elementary: Improve Clegern Elementary at 601 S. Jackson to include but not be limited to, constructing and equipping of a 3-classroom addition, renovating certain restrooms and expanding the existing kitchen. $1.6 million

9. Cross Timbers Elementary: Improve Cross Timbers Elementary at 4800 N. Kelly, to include but not be limited to, constructing and equipping of a 9-classroom addition to the existing facility. $5.8 million.

10. Ida Freeman Elementary: Improve Ida Freeman Elementary at 501 W. Hurd to include but not be limited to, constructing and equipping a 3-classroom addition, expanding and improving the cafeteria and kitchen within the existing facility. $2 million

11. Will Rogers Elementary: Improve Will Rogers Elementary School at 1215 E. Ninth St., to include but not be limited to constructing and equipping a 6-classroom addition to the existing facility. $3.8 million

12. Middle School Athletic Improvements: Provide for improvements to the Edmond School District by making improvements to existing baseball and softball fields to include, but not limited to constructing dugouts, bleachers, backstops, field lighting and accessible walkways at the following middle school sites: Cimarron Middle School, 3701 S. Bryant; Sequoyah Middle School, 1125 E. Danforth; and Summit Middle School, 1703 N.W. 150th St. $1.5 million

13. Provide for improvements to Memorial High School, 1000 E. 15th St., to include but not limited to, replacing metal facia panels with EIFS, enlarging the back stage area, renovating, constructing and equipping an area of the school’s original construction which includes classrooms, hallways, lecture rooms, art room, consumer and family sciences room. $6.6 million

14. Provide for improvements to the Edmond Public Schools Administrative Center, 1001 W. Danforth to include but be limited to the construction of a meting room addition on the existing facility which will be used for professional development, Board of Education meetings and teacher training. $970,000

Purchase school transportation equipment to include, but not limited to, large school buses, small school buses and utility vehicles. $800,000
