Celebrate holidays with downtown merchants

EDMOND — Merchants in downtown Edmond will remain open late on Dec. 3 greeting visitors and offering refreshments in their stores while shoppers look for that special Christmas gift.

Dec. 5, the music of Christmas will be heard loud and clear as carolers fill the stores and streets of downtown Edmond entertaining the holiday shoppers. The Dickens horse-drawn Christmas Trolley will be there for visitors to have a “free” ride through the downtown area on Saturday only.

The smells of hot cider and roasted nuts, and more than 50,000 Christmas lights, will greet visitors to downtown Edmond on Dickens weekend. The Dickens Weekend will continue through Dec. 6 with the sounds of Christmas. The downtown merchants will collect children’s toys, gloves, hats and scarves for the Hope Center. Collection boxes will be located in most of the downtown merchants’ stores.

Stores will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday; 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday.
