Mauck, Greens to be inducted into Oklahoma Christian Athletic Hall of Fame

OKLAHOMA CITY — Standout guard for the Eagles, Jay Mauck, and long time employees and supporters of Oklahoma Christian, Stan and Betty Green will be inducted into the OC Athletic Hall of Fame Saturday at the Hall of Fame dinner scheduled for 6 p.m.

Jay Mauck (1996-00) was an excellent ball player during his time on the OC basketball team. Mauck made his mark on OC’s basketball program and on the NAIA as a whole. He was the first player to earn the NAIA player of the year award (1998-99) for OC and only the second in school history. A two-time All-American, Mauck holds numerous records in OC’s program. He holds the record for scoring average in a season (25.6, 1998-99) and career (20.3, 1996-00) among several more.

Mauck netted 2,135 points in his career with the Eagles making him the all-time leader for Oklahoma Christian and the Sooner Athletic Conference before Jarred Merrill (2001-05) scored 2,189 several years later. He put up an impressive 378 3-point field goals during his career as well.

Mauck also earned an abundance of conference honors to add to his decorated career including SAC Player of the Year (1999) and SAC Freshmen of the Year (1997).

Stan Green served as Oklahoma Christian’s Sports Information Director for 18 years. Green, a Pasadena, Texas native, spent 38 years in sports information in addition to his time spent in advertising and design.

Prior to his time at OC, Green served as the director of public relations and sports information at Harding University (Ark.) from 1965-1987. Green is a member of the NAIA, CoSIDA, and Harding University Athletic Hall of Fames. He has won more than 70 national awards, including six “best in the nation” awards.

Alongside Stan, his wife Betty was a long time contributor to Oklahoma Christian as well. Betty served OC for more than 16 years as the Athletic Department Administrative Assistant and OC Cage Camp Administrative Assistant, among other capacities.

Betty spent nearly 20 years as Harding’s Athletic Department Administrative Assistant before her time at OC. Betty was an intricate behind the scenes worker who gave of her time in many ways to benefit Oklahoma Christian athletics.

Stan and Betty, along with Jay Mauck, will be honored at a Hall of Fame dinner scheduled for 6 p.m. on Nov. 7 at OC’s Gaylord University Center.
