Memorial (AAA) pounded out 21 hits as they swept Santa Fe (AAA) in a doubleheader at Bulldog Field on Thursday night.
Santa Fe charged to a 3-0 lead in the opener, before Memorial answered with a seven-run explosion in the bottom of the first, winning 12-10 in a two hour five inning game.
Trailing 7-3 heading into the second inning, the Wolves answered with a three-run double by Gaston Hart to pull within one.
But Memorial answered back with a big third inning.
Grant Bohuslavicky got a lead-off double to left, then scored moments later as Dylan Fieth reached first on an error. Drew Dahlberg picked up his second walk of the game, and Landon Hallum drove in Fieth with a single to make it 9-6.
Alex Hill added a two-run single, followed by another single from Dylan Keester, but Santa Fe went to Zac Cobble to stop the bleeding, and the junior delivered forcing three straight outs.
Santa Fe picked up three runs in the fourth — Blake Robberson scored on an error, while Hart and Lance Portwood each hit sacrifice flies — despite getting no hits.
Memorial came back with one run in the bottom of the fourth, getting a single from Bohuslavicky, and an RBI single from Hallum to make it 12-9.
Santa Fe got a triple from Clay Duckett and a sacrifice fly from Cole Wishon, but that was all they could get, as the game was called going into the bottom of the fifth.
The Wolves had just six hits in the contest, and took advantage of four Memorial errors.
Bohuslavicky went 3-for-3 in the contest with two singles and a double, Hallum was 2-for-2 with two RBI, while Hill was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI.
In Game 2, the Wolves got an RBI single from Cobble in the first inning, but that was about it.
Memorial answered with three runs — an RBI single from Landon Jones, a fielders choice by Matt Morgan, and an RBI from Ryan Resnick — and never looked back.
John Lassiter led off the second with a triple, and was driven in by Bohuslavicky, to make it 4-1.
Santa Fe pulled within one in the third getting hits from Robberson and Easton Mitchell, Hart got on by error to load the bases, and Robberson scored when Jackson Matthews was hit by a pitch.
Memorial scored three runs in the fifth, one by error, and two more on a double by Resnick.
The Bulldogs put the finishing touches on in the bottom of the sixth, scoring two runs on a passed ball.
