The Edmond North girls hadn’t lost to an Oklahoma school all season and they didn’t let it start Saturday. The Lady Huskies placed four runners in the top 10 and held off Westmoore for the Class 6A west regional title Saturday in Norman.
North won the girls’ meet with 52 points, finishing five points ahead of defending state champion Westmoore. Memorial and Santa Fe also punched their ticket to state, finishing third and fourth, with 68 and 111 points.
While North grabbed the team title, it was Memorial’s Tara Lewis finishing atop of the field. The sophomore won the individual crown with a time of 12:01.

Class 5A
The Deer Creek girls earned a trip to the Class 5A state cross country meet, as they placed second at regional Saturday in Norman.
Senior Hillarie Kessler finished second overall in the 2-mile race, after missing the past few meets due to injury. Kessler clocked a time of 12:54, finishing only behind Bishop McGuinness’ Mary Kate Roy.
