Meacham: State revenues expected to stay down

Tulsa World

OKLAHOMA CITY State Treasurer Scott Meacham says state revenues are expected to stay down in Oklahoma's revenue report for October.

That report will be released on Tuesday. Meacham says he thinks that the report will show Oklahoma is seeing some improvement in state revenues from recent months, although they still remain down.

Oklahoma's general revenue collections for September were $433.9 million, about 30 percent below the prior year and about 29 percent below the state's official budget estimate.

State agency budgets have been cut by 5 percent each of the last three months and Meacham has said those budget reductions will continue through the end of the fiscal year, which ends June 30.
