Sports briefs for 11-6-09

Greybeards to tailgate before game



Enid Greybeards will have a tailgate party from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. on Iowa Street Friday before the Enid-Union football game.

Club members will be serving a burger or hot dog basket with chips, cookie and a drink for $5.

Proceeds will benefit the EHS football program.



Orders being taken

for playoff T-shirts



Enid’s football boosters are selling playoff T-shirts.

Deadline for orders will be noon Monday. Shirts are available in five sizes — small, medium, large, X-large and XXL. Cost is $15, except for the XXL, which is $17.

Shirts may be ordered by calling either Melanie Miller, 278-1558; Robin Newby, 977-8114; or Carol Clemens, 747-5248. All orders must be paid in advance.

Orders may be turned in at Surety Abstract, 105 N. Grand. The shirts can be picked up at Surety Abstract Thursday.



Sumner Winter

Roundup Saturday



Sumner Winter Roundup series begins Saturday at Pavilion Arena at Chisholm Trail Expo Center.

Admission is $5 and kids 10 and younger are admitted free.

Events include open bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and novice bull riding. Those participating must attend six to eight events to qualify for awards.

Softball banquet Monday



Tickets have gone on sale for Enid’s softball banquet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the high school cafeteria. The banquet honors both the middle school and high school teams.

Tickets can be purchased from any middle school or high school player or coach. Cost is $11 in advance and $15 at the door.
