Jeff Hobbs and The Jacks to perform in Ada Feb. 16

ADA — Jeff Hobbs, an Ardmore native and new performer on the Red Dirt music scene, and his band The Jacks, will be playing at Legends in Ada Saturday, Feb. 16.

The band is gearing up for the release of its new single, “Red River Anthem.” Its debut 13-track album, “Road to Nowhere,” has gained the attention of an Austin, Texas, booking agency and an independent New York-based label.

The Jacks includes bassist Lucas Copeland, guitarist Derek Harris and drummer John Hicks.

Hobbs was injured in a car accident during high school. In the years following his accident, Hobbs admits to a period of anger and rebellion. However, it was during this dark period in his life that he found a new love in guitar and songwriting.

In early 2004, Hobbs was given a new outlook on life along with the birth of his daughter, Lilyann Grace, that he claims changed everything for him. He signed a contract in 2006 with Juell Records.

Juell was created by Dr. Ron and patsy Bulard and the foundation of this record label is a charitable one. Fifty percent of all Juell Records’ proceeds go toward research and clinical progress dealing with Autism.

“Jeff Hobbs is by far the best singer/songwriter I’ve worked with,” said Alvin Moody, president of Juell Records. “The combination of Jeff with the Jacks makes for a dynamic live show that you want to see again and again.”
