The Moving Wall travels to Tishomingo in June

The city of Tishomingo will be host to The Moving Wall, a traveling one-half sized replica of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C., from June 26 – 30.  Sponsored by the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Johnston County, the exhibit will be located at the Tishomingo football field. 
The Moving Wall is a memorial to the more than 58,000 men and women who gave their lives to their country during the Vietnam War.  Visitors can view the exhibit 24 hours a day while it is in Tishomingo.
The Wall will be escorted to the football field beginning at 8 a.m. on June 26.  Accompanying the exhibit will be the Patriot Riders and The Christian Motorcycle Riders.
Opening ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. June 27.  Lt. Governor Jefferson Keel, Chickasaw Nation, will be the master of ceremonies.  Oklahoma Lt. Governor Jari Askins will be the featured speaker. Also participating in the opening ceremonies will be Lt. General James Thurman, Deputy Director of Operations for the US Army and Honor Guards, representing the Five Civilized Tribes.
