Diamond K meets

June 27, 2008 04:38 pm

President Juanita Sutton opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance. Neal Beasley led in prayer. Patsy Beasley introduced the speaker, Janet Lee, retired Director of Children’s Dept. at the Ada City Library. She spoke on “The Power of Story.”
Janet says that due to Television many people do not entertain the children with stories of the past. She encouraged members to sit down and write family history and pass it on to future generations.
M.E. Carr reported a successful Interclub was made recently to The Ada Kiwanis Club. Members took tickets for the June 27th Fish Fry at the Jr. High Cafeteria to sell. The next Interclub will be to Sulfur Kiwanis Club next Tuesday at Noon.
Bob Ardiana asked for volunteers to work a Special Party at the Kiwanis Park Saturday. This week our club is working at the Park from 6 to 9 each night.
President Sutton passed around a sheet with each member’s duties scheduled for the Fish Fry. Everyone participates in this fundraiser by the Club. Neal Beasley reminded members who had signed up to deliver Meals-on-Wheels that our schedule is for June 9 through 13. Frank Fountain, ticket chairman announced tickets are available, if you run out of tickets to sell check with him.
