Local families gather for reunions
Thompson
ROFF — Descendents of the Francis H. Fredona C. Thompson gathered June 27 at Roff for their ninth annual family reunion. On the previous afternoon, a picnic was held in the Roff Park.
Janice Gimlin, great-granddaughter of the Thompsons, has compiled a history of both ancestors going back many years. This year she compiled a booklet for photographs of ancestors and presented each family member with a 60-page booklet of photos. She had received, via the Internet, the George and Elizabeth Holland's family photos. With the help of their grandson, Emmitt Holland of Muskogee, almost all the photos were identified.
Gus Thompson received the award for being the oldest male present at the reunion. Gay St. Clair, Brenda Robinson and Debi Johnson received gifts for traveling the longest distance. A gift for being the youngest person at the reunion went to Devan Boothe.
A beef brisket luncheon was served.
James Barrett, Oklahoma City attorney, introduced families and related funny and interesting stories. Various family members won 15 door prizes. The family decided to conduct an auction at next year's reunion.
Attending Roff were Geneva Bradford, Barbara Pedersen, Gary Horton, Janice Gimlin, Shane Wise and B.J. Gordy, all of Roff; Gus and Irene Thompson, Marie Dean, Rginald Pedersen and Chris Pedersen, all of Ada; Emmitt Holland and Wanda Holland, Muskogee; Jim Garrett and John Garrett, Newcastle; Joanie Pitts and Austin Huff, both of Oktaha; Roger and Jill Boothe, Rachel Boothe and Devan Boothe, James Barrett, Gary Dean, Judy and Harold Andrews, all of Oklahoma City; Alan and Barbara Crider, both of Broken Bow; Debie Johnson, Brenda Robinson and Gay St. Clair, all of Texas; and Sarah Herring, Washington state.
