SUV flips over tinhorn

Randy Mitchell Staff Writer

Ada ADA—Three people were injured in two separate accidents on Thursday and Friday.

The first accident happened on State Highway 48 four miles north of Tupelo in Coal County. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Mark Benedict said Latildra Dawn Bullard, 16, Tupelo, was driving south in a 2006 Suzuki and ran off the road.

She reportedly overcorrected, lost control and the vehicle rolled 3 and 1/4 times and landed on the driver’s side. Bullard was taken to Valley View Regional Hospital and admitted with head, trunk and leg injuries. Benedict said seat belts were in use and driver inattention was the cause of the accident. Conditions were clear at the time of the accident.

The second accident occurred this morning on County Road 1560 east of old Lovelady Road. Officials on scene said a mother and child were taken to Valley View Regional Hospital after a one vehicle accident.

She was driving west when she ran off the road and struck a tinhorn. The impact forced the Mitsubishi SUV to spin around in mid air and came to rest in a ditch, officials said.

Officials said the child was in a car seat and injuries to both did not appear serious. Firefighters from Happyland and Ada, Valley View EMS and Troopers from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded.
