An Ada man was found dead inside a pickup which crashed over a bridge Tuesday.
The truck was found just after 11 a.m. but authorities believe the man, Robert E. Horton, 41, was dead for some time and think the pickup crashed in the early morning hours.
The pickup was found upside down in a swollen creek bed on County Road 3490. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tyler Jack said Horton was driving south on CR 3490, ran off the right side of the road, hit a guard rail and flipped over.
The cab of the pickup was submerged and Horton was pinned in the wreckage. Horton was taken to Criswell Funeral Home In Ada pending further arrangements.
A man who lives nearby said he heard a loud noise at 4:01 a.m. and went outside to investigate. It was misting and very dark, according to the man.
The man didn’t see or hear anything and went back to sleep.
