McSwain features tribal talent Injunuity Nov. 7

The stage of the McSwain Theatre will come alive with the talent of Chickasaw people at Chickasaw Entertainers Night, 7:30 Saturday, Nov. 7 in Ada.

Performing will be Ada based Native American rock band Injunuity.

Formed in 2007, Injunuity features Native flautist and keyboardist Brad Clonch (Mississippi Choctaw), Jeff Carpenter (Chickasaw) playing guitar and alto sax, James Monroe (Chickasaw) on bass and trumpet, Robbie Blair (Chickasaw) also on bass and Ashton Booth on drums.

The group has made several appearances across the United States, playing original compositions that are described as having a “combination of traditional and modern themes.”

In 2008, Injunuity was named Debut Group of the Year at the 10th Annual Native American Music Awards for their first EP “Unconquered.” Their music has also been broadcasted worldwide on XM satellite radio’s channel 76 “Fine Tuning.”
