1-on-1 Brad Patterson

If you’re ever looking for him, go to the nearest soccer field, look for the person in on every play, and there he’ll be. This year, he’s been a big part in the success of the Jackson Red Devils’ soccer team. So far, through three games, he’s scored two goals - one of which was a crucial penalty kick in the Red Devils’ overtime victory last week against Callaway. When we asked him to participate in the segment we thought we’d be able to block his shot, but again we failed and he put us away with a goal in the top corner. This week we go 1-on-1 with the Red Devils’ Brad Patterson



C.F.: If you could live anywhere other than the United Sates, where would it be? Why?

B.P.: Italy, because of the fine women.

What is your favorite song, and movie?

My favorite song is “Eye of the Tiger” and the greatest movie of all time is Rocky 4.

Who is your favorite athlete?

Tiger Woods.

If you could date any celebrity who would it be?

Kristin Kreuk. She plays Lana on Smallville.

Coke or Pepsi?

Coke.

Ford or Chevy?

Ford.

Georgia or Georgia Tech?

Georgia.

Who is your favorite sports team or franchise?

Arsenal.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?

When I was about five years old I wet my pants at a family get together.

If a movie were casted about you, who would play your part?

Ray Romano.

If you could have any job, what would it be?

I would be one of those people who play video games all day.

What cartoon character would you compare yourself to? Why?

The Flash because he is always telling jokes, but nobody laughs.

Where is your favorite place to eat and what is your favorite dish?

T.G.I. Friday’s. I always have the sample platter.

What is your greatest athletic achievement?

Playing in the Clemson soccer all-star game.

Other than a Wal-Mart, what is something that you would like to see come to Jackson?

A movie theater.

If you could compete against any professional athlete, in any sport, who would it be and what would you play?

I would play Greg Maddox in a game of beach volleyball.

What is your biggest fear?

Heights. I guess because of the fact that you can fall and die.

What is your favorite and least favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject is English and my least favorite subject is Spanish.

What do think future athletes of Butts County need in order to help them properly prepare for sports at a young age?

Practice, practice and more practice. You can’t get better by watching television all day.

Looking back, can you choose a favorite coach who has helped you in your career?

My uncle Danny. He coached me for eight years in rec. ball and he still attends my high school games.

What is your favorite television show?

Smallville.

What is the best quote or saying that you’ve ever heard and who said it?

“Check every bulb Russ.” Clark W. Griswold.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Landscaping for the high rollers.

If you only had one word to describe Coach Ashmore, what would it be?

I would say a dreamer in hopes of being like me someday.
