1-on-1 Korunn Goodrum

For three seasons she has been on the court for the Jackson High School Lady Devils basketball team. This season, in only her junior year at Jackson High School, she has been a much needed spark both offensively and defensively. Lately her team has played very well and last week finished their region schedule with an 8-7 record. We know she can handle the pressure at the free throw line or from beyond the arc, but this week we wanted to see how she performed when she was asked to go 1 on 1 with the Jackson Progress-Argus. And not to our surprise, Korunn Goodrum took us to school.



C.F.: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why?

K.G.: I would live on an island because it looks peaceful and relaxing.

What is your favorite song, and movie?

My favorite movie is For Love and Basketball and my favorite song is “We belong together” by Mariah Carey.

Who is your favorite athlete?

Simone Augustus of the LSU Lady Tigers basketball team.

Who is your favorite sports team or franchise?

L.S.U.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?

I was in a fifth grade spelling bee and I missspelled the first word because I misunderstood the pronunciation.

What cartoon character would you compare yourself to? Why?

Tom, because he is so determined to eat Jerry and I am determined to accomplish everything that I want to accomplish in life.

If you could go on a date with any celebrity, who would you choose?

Bow Wow.

Where is your favorite place to eat and what is your favorite dish?

Hong Kong; crablegs.

If you were stuck on an island and could only have three things with you what would they be?

Humans, food and the Bible.

What is your greatest athletic achievement?

Starting varsity basketball games in the ninth grade.

What is something that you would like to see come to Jackson?

A movie theater.

If you could have any three wishes granted, what would they be?

To achieve my goals, go to heaven and win the region championship this Saturday.

If you could compete against any professional athlete, in any sport, who would it be and what would you play?

Serena Williams; tennis.

If you were the President of the United States, what is the first thing that you would want changed about the country? Why?

To stop sending blood to fight for oil because I don’t think it’s worth it. We only need to protect our country from being attacked.

What is your favorite type of perfume?

Baby Phat.

What is your biggest fear?

A tragedy happening in Butts County like what happened in New Orleans or of that nature.

What is your favorite and least favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject is science. My least favorite subject is social studies.

What is your favorite television show?

Girlfriends.

What is the best quote or saying that you’ve ever heard and who said it?

Do you have a dream car, and is so, what is it?

Yes, a hummer limo so I could be chauffeured around.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Living a successful and happy life.
