1-on-1 Lindsey Nelson

She’s only in her sophomore season at Jackson High School and already she’s playing a big part for the Jackson High School Lady Devils’ tennis team. This season she plays at the number two singles position and so far has helped lead her team to a perfect 7-0 region record. We thought we’d get her with a drop shot right in front of the net, but instead we were dropped when she returned it with a smash. This week we go 1 on 1 with Lindsey Nelson.



C.F.: If you could live anywhere other than the United Sates, where would it be? Why?

L.N.: Italy, because there are a whole lot of unique places to visit.

What is your favorite song, and movie?

My favorite song is “45” by Shinedown and my favorite movie is The Notebook.

Who is your favorite athlete?

Lindsay Davenport.

If you could date any celebrity who would it be?

Chad Michael Murray.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

Playing tennis.

Coke or Pepsi?

Pepsi.

Georgia or Georgia Tech?

Georgia. Go Dawgs.

Who is your favorite sports team or franchise?

The Georgia Bulldogs.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?

I was walking to the gym with Erin Brown and Tara Briscoe and there is this little step that you have to step over and while I was stepping up I fell right on my face. Everybody was laughing at me and it was so embarrassing that I just wanted to cry.

If a movie were casted about you what actor would best play your part?

Cameron Diaz.

What do you look forward to the most when the weekends roll around?

Sleeping in and hanging out with my friends.

If you could have any job, what would it be?

Pediatrician.

What cartoon character would you compare yourself to? Why?

Minnie Mouse, because I have a positive outlook on life and I’m very energetic and fun to be around.

Where is your favorite place to eat and what is your favorite dish?

Longhorns chicken tenders.

What is your greatest athletic achievement?

Playing number two singles on the tennis team as a sophomore.

Other than a Wal-Mart, what is something that you would like to see come to Jackson?

A movie theater.

If you could compete against any professional athlete, in any sport, who would it be and what would you play?

I’d play Lindsay Davenport in tennis.

What is your biggest fear?

Spiders and snakes.

What is your favorite and least favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject is English and my least favorite is History.

Looking back, can you choose a favorite coach who has helped you in your career?

Carol Watts.

What is your favorite television show?

Laguna Beach.

What is the best quote or saying that you’ve ever heard and who said it?

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away,” Will Smith in the movie Hitch.

What material possession can you not live without?

My cell phone.

If you had a $1,000 to spend in any store, where would you spend it?

Probably Hollister, Charlotte Rouse, Abercrombie and Polo.

If you only had one word to best describe yourself, what would it be? Why?

Funloving, because I love to make people laugh and I love to have fun.
