Hello, Butts County - January 4, 2006

“For those who give gifts with stipulations: that’s why they’re called gifts, not control.”

“I applied for Christmas help for someone to adopt my family this year. Every year in the past I have been given donations to the Empty Stocking Fund, the Can-A-Thon, and I’ve also helped adopt families myself. When I applied, the lady asked me why was my income less than the total bills I had to pay out every month. I explained to her that I worked for Delta Airlines, and I have been hit with two pay cuts this year, and so I just do odd jobs to try and make ends meet. With all the help that people are giving to the Katrina victims, the people on welfare, the food stamps – and most of them don’t even need it – you would think that someone like myself that’s always helped in the past would have had some help with my five children. But, sadly to say, I didn’t get any help from those people. I did get help from Toys for Tots from Coldwell Banker. You really made a difference in my children’s Christmas.”

“Hello, Butts County. I’d like to be the first person to have yo momma printed in Hello, Butts County. And I’d also like to say your momma’s head’s so big, she gotta go outside to change her mind.”

“What I have to say about the riddle is: KMA.”

“Will the horse owner on Dub Walker Road please refrain your horses from using the bathroom in front of our homes. Thank you so much, the residents on Dub Walker Road.”

“Hello, Butts County. I was just calling about the two deputies that wrecked the car. I was wondering how much of the expenses they incurred out of their pockets for replacing that car, and does the people of this county know that even though it was bought with drug-seized money, the sheriff should still be accountable for this, for that car. The people of this county should demand answers.”

“Hello, Butts County. This message is for the person who put sugar in the gas tank of the gray Grand Prix on Christmas day. The best place to get child support is to get a job.”

“I would like to ask an important question. I would like to know if our law enforcement in the city has seen and was out there when a woman was abused in the county and did not have them arrested. Is it because he wasn’t the county or was he supposed to call the sheriff’s office?”

“Happy New Year! Woo-woo!”

“On New Year’s Day my car broke down on England Chapel Road, and a good citizen helped me out and helped me restart my car. I wanted to thank him ‘cause he’s a good citizen.”

“Hello, this is Snowman. I’d like to wish everybody, everybody a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. And I wish everybody would remember the eleventh commandment, the one given by Jesus.”

“I’d just like to commend First Baptist Church choir. What an awesome job.”
