Hello, Butts County - February 1, 2006
“This is a girl from Jackson High School saying go Red Devils.”
“I was just wondering how come nobody can trace the calls to people who are putting the bomb threats on the high school.”
“This is Roast Beef. I like you Shadow.”
“We are going to miss you coming through town with your big loads. Come back soon. Remember you are always welcome in J-town.”
“I would like to know why it is ya’ll want kids to learn to parallel park before they can even get their license, but there’s nowhere in Butts County for them to learn to parallel park besides in town – and then they can hit someone’s car.”
“Bravo to everyone involved in the production of Aladdin, Jr. performed this past weekend. It was wonderful. We have real talent here in Jackson. A big thank you, too, to all the actors, the volunteers and the teachers. All your hard work really paid off.”
“As the owner of a rental property on Bucksnort Road, I would like to apologize to the community for the wrongdoing of the renters.”
“I’m just calling in to say I think Butts County has the best sheriff’s department and some of the best deputies in the United States. And I recommend them to anybody. If you have a problem with them, you must be doing something wrong. If you don’t think Gene Pope don’t get out there and work, you ought to get out there on the road sometime and look. And you think about how many times they put their lives on the line for you. I really appreciate the Butts County deputy sheriffs and the sheriff. I hope they’ll be with us a hundred years.”
“Roast beef and oopa doopa are euphemisms in the vocabulary of adolescents. We’re the Butts, with a capital B, of lame humor.”
“Yes, we all know about the good old boys syndrome in this county. My definition follows, what is ours? Good old boys are weak and are poor excuses for men. They have to stick together and prop each other up. They know who they are, and we know who they are.”
“Hello, Butts County. I would like to say phenomenal job to Michael Forehand and Rene Ballew and team for their performances this past weekend, and to the kids and Panda Theater. I also hear that Mr. Forehand will no longer be working with the Panda Theater, but with a community theater to give all children a chance to shine. I wonder if that’s true. My child, who attends Daughtry Elementary School, is overjoyed that now show has a chance of even more phenomenal shows like Annie and Aladdin, Jr. I’d like to say thank you once again.”
“Hi! Just wanted to say what an awesome job the Panda Theater did with Aladdin. The costumes were incredible, and the sets were just – wow – amazing.”
“Hey. Aladdin was great, and whoever did the costumes did a really great job.”
“I saw the Aladdin play at the elementary school this weekend. It was incredible. The children are talented. And we’re lucky to have someone like Michael Forehand in charge. He loves our children, and I’m glad he’s there. The costumes, the props – it was incredible. We’re lucky in our community to have such a thing.”
“Did you see the Aladdin play? It was so professionally done that you never would have guessed it was children. Wow, what a great thing to go see.”
“I saw Aladdin, Jr. and I just wanted to say that little boy that played Jofar, I’ll bet we’re going to be able to say we knew him when. He was awesome.”
“Watch your weight. Let’s not get too fat Jackson.”
“Republicans are for the people, and for less government. Tell me what’s wrong with that? Democrats want to give everything away - our money, aid – to other countries. Just what kind of crap is that? I say keep our stuff here.”
