Paulette Chaffin
Mrs. Paulette Linda Cash Chaffin, 64, of Jackson, died Thursday morning, December 29, 2005 at her residence.
Mrs. Chaffin was born December 11, 1941 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was the daughter of the late Walton and Deloris Cash.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Chaffin; daughter, Theresa and Crystiam Moctezuma of Jackson; stepdaughter, Maria and Soli Shakshuki of Douglasville; granddaughter, Gulianna Moctezuma; one sister, Marlene Cash of St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Funeral services for Mrs. Paulette Linda Cash Chaffin were held Friday, December 30, 2005 from the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dave Sandridge officiating. The interment followed in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.
Sherrell, Wilson, Mangham Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
Carl Dulcie, Sr.
Mr. Carl Rudolph Dulcie, Sr., 78, of the Turtle Cove area of Jasper County, died early Thursday morning, December 29, 2005 at the Newton County Medical Center in Covington.
Mr. Dulcie was born October 27, 1927 in West Virginia. He was the son of the late Steven and Phoebe Bradshaw Dulcie. Mr. and Mrs. Dulcie were former residents of Jonesboro for many years before moving to Turtle Cove. He was a retired iron and steel worker and was a member of the Iron and Steel Worker’s Union. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Marie Hayes Dulcie of Turtle Cove; children, Teresa Anderson of Turtle Cove; Carl Rudolph Dulcie, Jr., of Florida; Stefan Dulcie; Virginia and Joseph Edward Dulcie, all of West Virginia; step-children, Brenda Mealer of Stockbridge; Judith Moist of Monticello. He was predeceased by two step-children, Anthony Haws and Gregory Haws.
Funeral services for Mr. Carl Rudolph Dulcie, Sr., were held Monday, January 2, 2006 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Luther Burns officiated with the interment in the Jackson City Cemetery.

Sarah James
Mrs. Sarah Catherine Brown James, 83, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at the Summer Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Mrs. James was born February 10, 1922 in Butts County. She was the daughter of the late Arnold G. Brown and Mary M. Vaughn Brown. She was the wife of the late Raleigh James who died in 1988. Mrs. James was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and she was formerly very active in their alumni association. She was a retired public school teacher and was a member of the Old Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Butts County.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Bonnie James of Hendersonville, TN; granddaughter, Laurie James of Murfreesboro, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Nesbit Moss; brother and sister-in-law, Buster and Jane Brown, all of Jackson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Sarah Catherine Brown James were held Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the Old Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Elder David Cawthon officiated with the interment in the old Bethel Cemetery.
Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
Johnny Mason
Mr. Aaron Homer (Johnny) Mason, 91, of Atlanta, died Friday evening, December 30, 2005.
Mr. Mason was born September 4, 1914. He was the son of the late Aaron Homer Mason, Sr. and Nancy Elizabeth Mason. He was in the Army-Air Corps during World War II and was a Sgt. Major. He was employed by the J.J. Newberry Co., in Gallatin, TN as a manager from 1938-1943 and had later worked at Richs. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a niece and nephew, Nancy and Calvin Latham of Atlanta; sisters-in-law, Helen Ham, Evelyn Nix and Gwendolyn Morris, all of Jackson; brother-in-law, Warren McMichael of Jacksonville, Florida; numerous other nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Mason Smith.
Funeral services for Mr. Aaron Homer (Johnny) Mason were held Monday, January 2, 2006 at the graveside in Jackson City Cemetery with Dr. Tom Drake officiating.
Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
Beck Pulliam
Mrs. Bessie Benton (Beck) Pulliam, 90, lifelong resident of Jackson and Butts County, died Monday, January 2, 2005 at the Westbury Medical Care Home in Jackson.
Mrs. Pulliam was born May 7, 1915 in Dodge County. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Eugene Benton and the late Essie Grimsley Benton. She was the widow of the late John Robert Pulliam. Mrs. Pulliam was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Jackson and was retired from Avondale and Pepperton Mills.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Virginia Pulliam of Jackson; Reggie and Sheryl Pulliam of Viadalia; one sister, Ernestine Duke of Jackson; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Pulliam.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Benton (Beck) Pulliam will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. from the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with John Sherrell and Rudy Mangham officiating. Mrs. Pulliam will be entombed in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in the Jackson City Cemetery.
