Gloria Dawson
Mrs. Gloria Ann Roberts Dawson, 72, of Jackson, died Sunday, January 22, 2006 at the Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin.
Mrs. Dawson was born January 27, 1933 in Upson County. She was the daughter of the late Ellis H. Roberts and the late Lilac Massey Roberts. She was formerly employed at American Mills in Jackson and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bobby J. Dawson of Jackson; one son and daughter-in-law , Robbie and Lori Dawson of Rex; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Glen Rivers of Jackson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Doris Roberts; Danny and Martha Roberts, all of Jackson; four grandchildren, Stephanie Rivers, Michelle Rivers, Benjamin Dawson and Alexander Dawson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Ann Roberts Dawson were held Tuesday, January 24, 2006 from the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Powell and Rev. Lane Sanders officiating. The interment followed in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Sherrell, Wilson, Mangham Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
Ronald Holmes
Mr. Ronald Marcus Holmes, 48, of Cochran, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at his residence.
Mr. Holmes was a native of Pulaski County and a member of the Broad Street Baptist Church. He was employed at Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. in Eastman. He was a charter member of the Bleckley County Bass Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lynette J. Holmes of Cochran; parents, Bobby and Gail Holmes of Hawkinsville; daughter, Kayla Holmes of Pineview; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alex and April Holmes of Unadilla; Marty and Chasity Anderson of Cochran; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Fred Clark of Hawkinsville; Lisa and Kevin Cook of Dry Branch; grandchildren, Janna Anderson of Cochran; Evan Holmes, Braden Holmes and Bryson Holmes, all of Unadilla; nephews, Jay Clark and Chris Clark, both of Hawkinsville; Josh Cook of Dry Branch; several other nieces and nephews; uncle and aunt, Loy and Jackie Hutcheson of Jackson.
Funeral services for Ronald Marcus Holmes were held Friday, January 20, 2006 in the Broad Street Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Harrison, Rev. Clay Bowden and Rev. Russell Buddy Horne officiating. The burial followed in the Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville was in charge of arrangements.
Linda Johnson
Mrs. Linda Blanchard Johnson, 55, of Jackson, died Friday, January 20, 2006 at the Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin.
Mrs. Johnson was born September 12, 1950 in Fulton County. She was the daughter of the late Elzie Sam Blanchard and the late Minnie Irene Sanford Blanchard. She attended the County Line Baptist Church in Jenkinsburg.
Survivors included her husband, Robert Johnson of Jackson; son, Toby Johnson; brother, Frank Blanchard; two sisters, Mary Womack and Brenda Darnell, all of Jackson; step-daughter, Tammy Keeler of Missouri; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Blanchard Johnson were held Sunday, January 22, 2006 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Dr. Gene Sellers officiating. The interment followed in the Jackson City Cemetery.

Jackie James
Mr. Andrew Jackson (Jackie) James, 71, of Jackson (Monroe County), died late Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at his residence.
Mr. James was born December 19, 1934 in Butts County. He was the son of the late Roy and Bertha Pirkle James. Jackie was a retired Spinning Technician with Dundee Mills in Jackson. He was a former member of the Gerogia National Guard and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Faulkner James; five children, Sherry Chamberlain of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Andrew M. James of Colorado Springs, CO; Carey L. James of Eustace, Texas; Andrew J. James, II. and Dwayne Harvey James, both of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Stamps of Atlanta; brothers, Guy H. James of Jackson; William T. James of Kathleen; J.R. (Jesse) James of Griffin; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Jackie James were held Friday, January 20, 2006 at the Liberty Baptist Church. The interment followed in the church cemetery with Rev. George Malcolm officiating.
Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
Roy Turpin
Mr. Roy Eugene Turpin, 52, of Stockbridge, died Friday, January 20, 2006 in Stockbridge.
Mr. Turpin was born December 28, 1953. He was the son of the late George Raymond Turpin and the late Margie Ledbetter Allen Turpin.
Survivors include two sisters, Kathleen Wilson of Stockbridge; Sarah Bloodworth of Ellenwood; one brother, Johnny Turpin of Jackson; sister-in-law, Wanda Turpin of Jenkinsburg.
Memorial services for Mr. Roy Eugene Turpin were held Tuesday, January 24, 2006 from the Sherrell Memorial Chapel.
