Ruth Emory
Mrs. Ruth Clayton Emory, 87, of Jackson, died Monday, February 27, 2006 at Portsbridge Hospice in Conyers.
Mrs. Emory was born August 18, 1918 in Eatonton. She was the daughter of the late Alvin Edward Clayton and the late Bessie Ethel Thacker Clayton. In 1981, she was awarded a certificate for outstanding service, giving her time and talent, to the Kiwanis Club of Jackson. She was retired from catering and the textile industry and was a faithful and devoted member of the Second Baptist Church in Jackson.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton and Terrilyn Emory of Jackson; Teddy and Irene Parker of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan Parker and Mark Jennette of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, Jeff Parker, Laura Emory, Chelsea Emory, and Chase Jeanette; five great-grandchildren, Michelle, Tyler, Kyle, Rylan and Dylan Besaw; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Clayton Emory will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the Second Baptist Church in Jackson with Dr. John Davis and Mark Jennette officiating. The interment will follow in the Pepperton Cemetery. The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to the Portsbridge Hospice, 1374 Manchester Drive, Conyers, Georgia 30012, in memory of Mrs. Emory.
The Sherrell, Wilson, Mangham Funeral Home of Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth Frady
Mr. Kenneth M. Frady, Sr., 65, of Jackson, died Friday, February 24, 2006, following injuries sustained in a trucking accident.
Mr. Frady was preceded in death by his sons, Jimmy and Ricky Frady.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Linda Frady of Jackson; son, Kenneth Frady, Jr. of Jasper; granddaughter, Amanda Frady of Stockbridge; great-granddaughter, Amaya Frady, of Stockbridge; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Wesley Cummings; Mary Ann Major; all of Buford; Laura Wynell and Hubert Chastain of Cumming; Bertie McKenzie of Brunswick; Anne Densmore of Cumming; two brothers and sister-in-law, Carl Barnes of Buford; Charlie and Tina Frady of Dahlonega; great nephew, Joseph Blake Hardy, (BoBo) of Butts County; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia Smallwood of Griffin; Delmar Hughes of Douglasville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth M. Frady, Sr. were held Tuesday, February 28, 2006 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Davis and Rev. Lee Frady officiating. The interment followed in the Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
Ingram Funeral Home of Cumming was in charge of arrangements.
Hazel Register
Mrs. Hazel M. Register, 79, of Hastings, died Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Ponce De Leon Care Center in St. Augustine, Florida after a short illness.
The Palatka native had lived in Hastings since 1942, coming from Palatka. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hastings where she taught a Sunday School class and she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Joseph Baggett; brothers, John Baggett and James Baggett; grandchild, William E. Register, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Chelsea Johnson; son-in-law, Clyde Ballard; grand son-in-law, Gary Biles.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Joseph “J.B.” Register; daughter, Doris E. Ballard; son, William E. Register, all of Hastings; brother, Richard Baggett of Palatka; four sisters, Mary Ruth Barnes of Hastings; Barbara Kramer of San Mateo; Pearl Hall of Bunnell; Patsy Norris of East Palatka; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Hazel M. Register were held Monday, February 27, 2006 at Palatka Memorial Gardens with Rev. Michael Baggett officiating. Memorial donations can be made to a favorite charity.
The Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home of Palatka, Florida was in charge of arrangements.
