C.B. Akins
Mr. Chester B. (C.B.) Akins, 91, died Saturday, March 4, 2006.
Mr. Akins was born May 10, 1914 in Monroe County. He was the son of the late Alberta Akins and the late Jesse Bowden. Mr. Akins retired from the Department of Transportation in 1979 after many years of service. He will be dearly missed by many.
Mr. Chester Akins leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Daisy Akins; children, Janie Ruth Cash, James Albert Akins, Jesse Emmitt Akins, Dorothy Stewart, Iris Watts, Geraldine Benz; stepchildren, Mary Barlow, Annie Jordan, Deloise Akins, Arthur Stewart, Willie Stewart; sister, Carrie Belle Mitchell; several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Chester B. (C.B.) Akins will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Griffin. The interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery. The cortege is asked to assemble at 102 Peachtree Road no later than 10:00 a.m.
Watkins & Sons Funeral Services, Inc., of Griffin, is in charge of arrangements.
Don Cline
Mr. Don Thomas Cline, 63, of Forsyth, died Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the Macon Medical Center in Macon.
Mr. Cline was born September 17, 1942 in Indiana. He was the son of the Mildred Perkins Cline and the late Clarence Cline. He was a pawn shop owner and served in the military.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Whitehead Cline of Forsyth; two daughters, Karen Cline of Selma, Alabama; Cammie Buchanan of Stockbridge; one son, Todd Cline of Kennesaw; mother, Mildred Perkins Cline of North Vernon, Indiana; one brother, Irvin Cline of North Vernon, IN.
Funeral services for Mr. Don Thomas Cline were held Saturday, March 4, 2006 from the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Burge officiating. Mr. Cline was carried to the Dove, Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, IN for local services and interment. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in the chapel. Burial followed in the Venon Cemetery in North Vernon, IN.
The Sherrell, Wilson, Mangham Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of local arrangements.
Mari Glasco
Miss Mari Faye Glasco, 49, of Atlanta, died Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Miss Glasco was born March 6, 1956 in Fulton County. She was the daughter of the late Hugh Thomas Glasco, Sr. and Marjorie Elizabeth Shairer Glasco. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta and attended Sand Town Baptist Church in Atlanta. She was a devoted daughter and enjoyed family history, jewelry design, rock concerts and serving God. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Survivors include her brothers, Hugh Thomas Glasco, Jr. of Grass Valley, California; Mark Albert Glasco of Atlanta; one sister, Grace Dian Glasco of Nevada City, CA; nephew and niece, Evan and Hailey Glasco of Grass Valley, CA. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Augustus John and Marjorie Elizabeth Thomas Schairer; paternal grandparents, Gordon Thomas and Buris Durant Glasco; nephew, Ryan Thomas Glasco and many great uncles and aunts of the Thomas family of Flovilla.
Memorial services for Miss Mari Faye Glasco were held Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the College Park First Methodist Church with Rev. Beth Sanders and Rev. Robert Wilson officiating. The interment was held Friday, March 3, 2006 in the Flovilla City Cemetery.
Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
