Letters to the Editor, Feb. 20, 2008

Dear awesome citizens of Ada,

I am a fifth grader, Kylie, from ILES (my school). Meredith, New Hampshire. I am writing to your beautiful and amazing state to see if anyone would like to contribute to my social studies project called state in the box. If it is possible to send any post cards, sand off the ground, small items and old license plates. Thanks for reading and your help. To the awesomely awesome citizens of Ada. Send items to 21 Laker Lane, Inter-Lakes Elementary School, Meredith, NH 03253

Kylie

Meredith, N.H.

Dear Editor,

It would be so refreshing to pick up an Ada News Sunday edition that doesn’t have a group of law breakers pictured on the front of the page, in the lead story.

Much to my dismay, this situation has occurred many times in the past and also on weekday editions. I hope you will consider some reasons for changing this practice.

First, Sunday is a religious day, let us think positively, and be thankful for our blessings. Surely, in a wonderful community like Ada, someone, or some group has done something positive enough to deserve reporting on the front page of the Sunday paper.

Second, if someone is visiting Ada for the weekend and is considering whether or not to move a family or a business here, wouldn’t the above mentioned article discourage that move and give a negative picture of our community?

Third, the world is full of bad news and the newspaper has many pages. The Ada News could put Ada’s best foot forward, at least on Sunday, and print the bad news concerning drug arrests, etc. on an inside page. A person could then be filled with pride and positive thoughts as we pick up the Ada News on Sunday Morning.

June Johnson, Ada

(Editor’s Note: Ada Evening News considers a drug bust good news. The local police force is doing their job in getting another drug dealer, rapist, murderer, child abuser, etc., off of the streets of Ada, making this community a safer place to live. )
