Dear Editor,
I enjoyed reading the article “Rib Joint Down, Not Out,” by Judd Morse about Bob’s BBQ, however, I would like to clear up a few misconceptions about Bob’s BBQ. Bob’s BBQ was originally Holt’s BBQ.
Bob purchased the “secret recipe” sauce from Finis and Don Holt. Bob Leonard did not come up with this recipe and it is a closely guarded recipe because of the agreement between Bob Leonard and Finis Holt. I was told that the recipe was never to be given to anyone outside of the Leonard family.
The original building is still located to the North of the restaurant and is about to totally give way to nature’s elements. It was, and what is still left of it, a small white building.
You may ask how I know all of this, well, it is because my husband’s grandparents were Finis and Don Holt.
Finis kept her word about not giving the recipe to anyone when she sold the recipe to Mr. Leonard. Just for the records, she wouldn’t even let me have the recipe!
I am glad that Bob’s BBQ has done so well throughout the years, but just wanted to see that credit is given where it is due.

Dear Editor,
The President and his advisors are wrong to have asked for the info from telecoms!
Now, they seek to exonerate themselves in the guise of immunity for these telecoms which they lead down a yellow brick road.
Did they blackmail them? I don’t know!
But the telecoms did wrong too! Were they paid for their work? I can’t imagine these organizations did the work out of the goodness of their hearts.
Pass a bill without immunity and fine the telecoms the exact amount that they were paid. Double it as our IRS does and impose the same interest penalities until paid. If they don’t pay up.
Sanction them further!
I am pleased to see an Oklahoma Republican working with a Democrat to get things done.
Make it happen!
