Charmed by Chocolate festival scheduled Feb. 7 downtown Ada

It’s time again for Ada Main Street’s annual Charmed by Chocolate festival. The Festival will be held Saturday Feb. 7, from noon until 4 p.m. downtown Ada.

Contestants may send in their registration forms any time between Jan. 2-Feb. 6. Entries will be divided into three categories: Amateur, Professional and Parent/Child. Participants are asked to submit two (2) of each dessert, i.e. cakes or pies (2), cookies or brownies (2 dozen) or chocolates (3 pounds). One will be used for judging and public tasting and the second will be auctioned in the silent auction fundraiser. There are five categories of chocolate desserts: Cakes, Cookies, Brownies, Chocolates and Wild Card. Judging will be on taste, appearance, and creative use of chocolate in the dessert. Coupon books may be purchased at the door beginning at noon on the day of the festival or may be purchased in advance at the following locations: First United Bank, Citizens Bank, Hamburger King, Landmark Bank,Vision Bank and Ada Main Street Office. Each coupon book allows an individual to taste 10 various desserts and vote for his or her favorites. The coupon book costs $5 and contains 10 tickets for sampling and two ballots to vote for Peoples Choice (Amateur and Professional). Awards will be given out at 4 p.m. The Silent Auction will be conducted from noon until 3:45 p.m.
