A Wapanucka man was injured in a two vehicle accident one mile west and two miles south of Wapanucka Monday.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Jefferson said Rayland Floyd, 39, was driving a 2002 Pontiac west on a county road just after 9 a.m. when the accident happened.
Floyd reportedly came over a hill at an “unsafe speed” and rear-ended a slower moving 2007 Chevrolet pickup driven by John Drinnon, 26, Milburn, according to Jefferson.
Floyd was flown by LifeStar to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was admitted in serious condition with internal and leg injuries.
Drinnon was not injured. Based on his investigative opinion, Jefferson listed the cause of the accident as unsafe speed and said Floyd was not wearing a seat belt.
Wapanucka firefighters and Johnston County EMS also responded.
