Board elections today

Today is the annual school election for Latta and Stratford school boards and a special school election for Pickett-Center.

Only those registered at an address within these school districts are eligible to vote in this election.

Board members in the Ada School District were uncontested and will retain their seats.

Bob Knight and Cindy Johnson are running for the Stratford board seat while Michael Manning and DeLisa Floyd are contending for the Latta seat.

Pickett-Center schools have proposed a proposition for a $300,000 bond to construct, equip, reapair and remodel school buildings, acquire school furniture, fixtures and equipment and acquiring and improving school sites.

Polling places for this election are Pontotoc Technology Center, Fitzhugh Methodist Church, Latta School Library, Oil Center Pentecostal Church, Center Freewill baptist Church, Union Hill Baptist Church and Vanoss School Ag Building.
